Guy Fawkes 2007 : Only in the UK would they take a failed attempt to blow up Parliament and turn it into an excuse to party . . . Remember, remember the 5th of November. Lest we forget . . . : On 11 November 2007, Armistice Day, Andrew and I were asked to lay a wreath representing the church at the national Remembrance Day ceremonies. It was a solemn and lovely occasion. I'm very glad we participated. I also realized that this was the first time I had sung the Welsh national anthem in Welsh and God Save the Queen. I hadn't had too much practice with those as an American woman, but I was proud to join in with those in my newly adopted country. During the festivities I couldn't help but think of my many relatives, including my father, who had served in various wars. I was very proud of them today too.
