Project365 > Jana J. Shakespeare (cadenza)  > Project 365 > April 2008: Mea Culpa
Project 365: It's a chronicle of my daily life for one year through a daily photograph-a photo journal of sorts. Some days will be people in my life, others places I've been, or maybe just a random item that catches my eye. Each month I will add another gallery as I work through the 365 days.

Jana J. Shakespeare (cadenza) > Day 10/365
Monday, 21 April 2008
The god of the bedroom: yes, that's right! You read correctly. My husband has a collection of African masks. This beast of one is huge and goes from ceiling to the top of our bed frame. He looks over our room, so we jokingly started calling him the god of the bedroom.

Okay, so not much exciting today. I was super-busy all day and only got a moment to pull out the camera as the sun was setting. I was in Cwmbran doing a counselling session for a client and decided to snap a shot of the Welsh sign for the church where they let me use office space to do counselling for people who require a little extra help.

I had the most beautiful lunch break today!! Rather than just eating at my desk, I went out with my camera to enjoy the unusually beautiful weather. I wandered down the coastline in Barry. These boats marooned in mud caught my eye. The tide in this region is one of the highest in the UK. I suspect I could come back later in the day and find the boats floating along just fine.

I drive by this rapeseed field on my way to work in the Vale of Glamorgan every day. It's one of my favourite areas to see. I was feeling a little homesick today, so taking this photo picked my mood up quite a bit.

Okay, so I cheated and made my photo 4 in 1! I had a lot of silly fun tonight. We went to a barn dance. I still can't quite figure out how they call them barn dances here in the UK when the dances are never in barns (several people looked at me in awe when I told them I had been to barn dances in real barns. I then got questioned about living where there were real cowboys), but it was fun to watch everyone learning the dances to the live music--a mixture of country and Celtic.

The drowsy cowboy is my husband (complete with Wranglers and Tony Lamas). The children were all having fun helping each other. Rachel and Richard are friends of ours from church who didn't realize we were snapping a photo of them, oh yeah, and I'm the last cowgirl (with my head cropped since this stupid program wouldn't let me choose where to position the photos).

So I got clear to the end of my lazy Saturday thinking I wasn't going to find a photo when I decided to snap one of the brownies I made my sweetheart for dessert tonight. Gluttony may be one of the seven deadly sins, but we are enjoying this slow path to hell. :)

Hollie may never forgive me for posting this photo. We had a get together with a group of our friends tonight and one of them had this odd head massage toy. It really was mean of me to grab the camera in this moment, but so be it . . .

These are a bit of a dying breed. There's still something charming about lunch in a tea room though. This is where I ate today. They make a decent cream tea (scone, clotted cream, jam, sandwich, and a cuppa).

Windy Wales: the land of the abandoned umbrella
after each of the frequent rainstorms, you will find a new collection of broken brollies decorating the pavement.
