Day 26/365 Wednesday, 7 May 2008 This is what happens when I get buried at work and don't find anything interesting to photograph during the day--I grab what I can find before falling into bed. These are the links from my charm bracelet that I occasionally wear. Cheesy? Oh yes, but as each charm has some kind of special memory, I still enjoy it now and then.

This was a wonderful month in my life, namely because of finding out that I am pregnant for the first time--something we've been hoping would happen for a very long time now.

Brits will look at this and wonder why in the world I took a photo of it, but I'm pretty sure most Americans would roll over laughing. One bit is the name "Ye Olde Oak American Hotdogs" which just looks entirely un-American, the other thing is the fact that hot dogs come in cans here. I couldn't believe it when I saw tinned hot dogs in all the stores (and they always have an American flag on the label).

Not exactly your usual swan shot! It made me giggle, so I had to keep it. Today was the perfect day--went to church, visited an ill friend, and on the way home we stopped at a lovely Victorian church to take photos of the flowers for 365 but ended up spending two hours walking around Roath Park enjoying a lovely afternoon.

This is a more topical one -- given the protests we've all seen in the news about the Olympic flame. After the Chinese invasion, many of Tibet's treasures made their way over the Himalayas into northern India. Andrew's grandfather bought this silver plate from a box wallah in Kalimpong, north of Calcutta.

It depicts the half-leopard, half-human goddess of the Himalyan mountain of Kichin-Junga, who commands the devotion of the villagers on the mountain's slopes.

St. Faggans: I absolutely adore this living museum http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/stfagans/ Otherwise known as the Museum of Welsh Life. I had a meeting for my work here today and couldn't resist coming in for a few photos. I had to smile to see they hadn't taken the maypole down yet.

I often park my car on the road overlooking this bowling green, but I hadn't ever really seen people play before today. I love that every now and then I still stumble across something I hadn't ever seen before in my new country!

Yesterday I spent an afternoon with a client at Porthkerry Park just talking as we watched the ocean on the pebble beach. I paid later for my stupidity in forgetting sunscreen with a very red face, neck and arms. My feet turned the least red, so I rewarded them by painting my toenails orange and wearing my favourite sandals.
